Note From The Editor: I am so thankful to have devoted readers like the ones I have, or even like the ones reading this post right now. I've been MIA for a while and I apologize. I've been working, traveling and going to school. My schedule has been so hectic these past few months I never really had time to sit down and write new posts.

I attended fashion week in September and it really killed me when I couldn't share my thoughts or write a post about a show I just attended. Carine Roitfeld and her team, VOGUE Paris have been blacklisted from Balenciaga. Balenciaga has pulled advertising, and has denied any requests for samples or invites to their show. Carine recently spoke about the situation saying “We’re blacklisted - It’s too bad, it’s a beautiful house and it’s French. I hope that it’s not forever.” It's a shame that Balenciaga would do a such thing to one of the most influential fashion magazines in the industry, the question is, why?

Anna Sui's Fall/Winter 2010 Collection was nothing short of amazing. Not only did I get to sit front row, I also saw a marvelous collection. Usually I find Anna's clothing to be not as practical as others, considering the huge assortment of patterns and cuts she uses. But this season I could really see more and more looks that I could wear. And of course the rest of the people that filled the tent that night agreed on the perfection of her collection because Anna did receive a standing ovation.But enough about her show, let's talk about her

the clothes!
The inspiration for Anna Sui's fall collection came from the American Arts and Crafts movement which was very much seen throughout the show. The prints seen in the show reminded us of biba dolls or even patterns carved into antique furniture. Although some bloggers took note of the season's patterned tights, Anna has been doing them for quite a while now and I must agree with the rest of them, I am oh so very tempted to wear patterns on patterns.

Overall, the collection was pretty much perfect. Each piece did not overpower the other whether it was layered or stood alone. I feel as though Anna will be very big next winter, and I cannot wait to see girls wearing her signature jacquard dresses.

Giorgio Armani's first hotel will open March 18 at the Burj Tower in Dubai. The designer who has created a lifestyle brand is the mastermind behind a chain of Armani Hotels and Resorts that will soon surface. The next opening to follow the Dubai hotel will be the Armani Hotel Milano, followed by the first Armani Resort in Marrakech in Egypt. Alex Wang's Spring/Summer 2010 collection was by far one of his best collections EVER. I might have said that before about his other collections but this collection in particular caught the eye of many, many, many fashionistas, editors and buyers.

The fact that this collection had used Athletes and sports as its inspiration was very unique. Although I must add that I might be a little hesitant to spend $400 on a football clutch, but I may spend just around the same amount on a pair of A. Wang shades.The accessories to this collection really blew my mind. I wanted everything; the studded clutch, the leopard print wedges, the GLASSES! I even wanted to wear my hair in a side braid(!)
To be honest, I wasn't even too crazy about the clothing because the cat like shades had me hypnotized. I was so in love with the cat eye glasses that was all I thought about for weeks.
Now that it is January, a lot of stores are receiving their Spring/Summer2010 inventory, meaning that of course some stores will have to stock up on Alexanders first attempt at eye wear.
I know I will. Opening Ceremony is one of the few stores in NYC that will be carrying the eye wear collection, so keep your eyes peeled for the reason date.

Karl Lagerfeld recently worked with Olivier Zahm to create a Chanel Magazine titled 31 Rue de Cambon. Thanks to Olivier - we get a little sneak peak of the interior of what could possibly become our second bible; Vogue being the first.

News broke not so long ago that Lindsay Lohan would take place as "artistic director" at Emanuel Ungaro, thus causing head designer at the time, Esteban Cortazar, to quit. News of Lindsay Lohan's arrival at Ungaro did not go so well with the fashion industry either. Fashion editors, buyers, and stylists could not even comment the situation.

When I heard the news, I myself was a little confused, but I thought that maybe Lindsay could add a little something, of course nothing better than Esteban but maybe something more unique.

Now Estrella Archs is the head designer at Ungaro with her "artistic director" in tow.
And they definetly presented a show to all their guests. That being said, I can't quite allow myself to say that I am completely OVER UNGARO, but I am! The Spring/Summer 2010 collection literally killed me. Negative death. There wasn't really a solid theme being executed, the collection was all over the place! Some of it even reminded me of Alexander Wang SS09 [A collection that Lindsay wore a lot.] Lindsay was obviously inspired by Rihanna! The pasties under blazer look and pyramid studded sunglasses are a great example of that because those looks went down the runway. But the part of the collection that really had me confused was the abundance of hearts. I am all for love, sure, but hearts on shorts and heart appliques stamped in the center of models foreheads?!? I literally could not have been anymore confused. Looking over the collection and thinking about Lindsay and her job as "artistic director" I have to admit that I really did give her the benefit of the doubt. And I now fully understand why Esteban left the label after hearing news of Lindsay's new position. I don't like to write negatively about fashion because fashion is all about expression and personal style but LiLo for Ungaro was just a mess! I have to side with all of the fashion industry with this one.Esteban PLEASE SAVE US!

Stella is Stellar

Stella McCartney's Spring/Summer 2010 collection is absolutely stellar! The collection itself really sells to every demographic this season. These pieces could be pulled off by a teenager or a woman in her 40's. Regardless of age this collection was really classic, it was not too young and not too old. Stella presented her collection this season allowing her costumers to see that simplicity can go a long way, and she represented this through all the neutral pieces that came down the runway at the beginning of the show. She then progressed and gave us color. She allowed us to experiment with her clothing, letting us see what just a little color could do to an outfit. The colors began to get more vivid and all the looks were now in one solid color of blue, orange and pink. Floral prints were coming into the mix but to add a little more flirtacious appeal to it, they were ruffled. Ruffled florals! I die. Personally speaking I am not that big of a floral print lover but Stella has indeed won me over. As I was looking through pictures of the show I could really feel the change of season (Spring/Summer) with the colors and styles presented. Overall the collection was very well executed and I cannot wait to get my hands on one of the floral dresses.

Louis Vuitton is the next label to follow Burberry, Alexander McQueen and Emporio Armani with live streaming of their collections this season. LV will stream it's show live from its Facebook page on October 7th 2009 at 2:30pm Paris time meaning 8:30am in NYC. Viewers will be able to comment on the show as it is taking place. After the show LV will have footage of the collection on demand for 24 hours. In other words, if you cannot wake up at 8:30am you still have 24 hours to watch front row.

Jil Sander Frenzy at Uni Qlo

Back in March word of the Jil Sander x Uniqlo collaboration made its way onto the internet, photos of the look book were also posted online. But at that point in time I thought to myself 'Why would I post this news months before it's release?' And because of that question I refrained myself from posting anything about that collection until the time of its release.

Now seems like a pretty good time to write a little something because after all the collection did hit stores today and the line at 546 Broadway is never ending.
The +J collection is pretty straight forward: winter coats, cashmere sweaters, shirts, jeans, basically everything you need for winter and the price points are really great for any budget.
I just made a phone call to the store, word is the clothes are going pretty fast, but if the +J line does well the store will take in another shipment.

Erin Wasson x RVCA Spring.Summer 2010 collection was amazing! Gang Gang Dance performed their song "Crystals" live throughout the show, and I've gotten addicted to their music ever since. Love at first listen. Music aside, the collection itself was on another level and the lineup of models almost had me passing out in the third row. Being that Erin Wasson is Erin Wasson, model and muse to Alexander Wang, I couldn't expect any less of her.

A lot of the looks worked great as an ensemble, while some pieces could be mix and matched with other designer pieces to create a polished look or even something more dramatic. The vibe of the clothing was very grunge and vintage chic, which reminds us a lot of the designer herself.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Spring or Summer is an exotic blend of bright colors. Designer Doo Ri seems to think otherwise. Doo Ri this season has become more edgy and with that edginess has made majority of her looks in different hues of grey with a pop of color here and there.

The shoes that accessorized each outfit made a statement on their own. Regardless, each look could stand strong on its own without excessive accessories. The clothing flowed on the models bodies as they walked down the runway. Gray lipstick made the girls seem more hardcore. The 30 piece collection was very versatile, as it could be worn on anyone willing to become more edgy, anyone willing to be different and anyone willing to stand out!

Alexandre Herchcovitch's Spring/Summer 2010 football inspired collection stole my heart. No, I am not a cheerleader hoping to dress as her boyfriend would. I am just a girl who wouldn't mind trotting around with a football clutch and a dress with the most colorful palette and puffy shoulders.

This collection was by far the most wearable of all Herchcovitch's collections. Although the last few caged pieces were a bit exaggerated, the theme was still delivered. The looks that caught my eye the most were the rubber dresses and tops, as well as the black dress with silk panelling. All the looks shown seemed to be uniforms for Herchcovitch's team, each uniform represented the woman wearing it. That being said, Alexandre definitely did score a touchdown in my book.

This Girl Has A Tougher Edge.

For Spring/Summer 2010 the Nicole Miller girl has become more edgy and sexy. The color palette was composed of black, nude, white, cream and charcoal accented by aquamarine and green shades. Nicole incorporated various geometric shapes into her collection that broke the mold of the classic dress or top. Several side-draped dresses were a repeated look on the runway although they did vary in design and color; graphic and solid. Other looks consisted of sheer panelling and cut outs. All in all, the best looks were the simple solid colored pieces, whereas the pieces with more color and different shapes seemed to be more hip but less wearable.

There has been much anticipation for Christopher Kane's Fall 2009 collection for TopShop and any day now the collection will be available to the masses of people that have been waiting. Kane's collection consists of thirty-nine pieces including shoes and bags. The price ranges from $80 - $300. From what I've seen of the collection so far, I bet every girl will want to own a piece of it. My personal favorite is the crocodile dress (as pictured above) that is reminiscent of the gorilla dress seen in Christopher Kane's RTW Spring 2009 collection. Kane's capsule collection is an absolute must! Stay tuned for more information about the release date.
